    Free Air Fryer Conversion Chart

    Published: May 4, 2024 by Jenny · 2 Comments

Looking for a free air fryer conversion chart download? I've got you covered! At the end of this article you'll find the air fryer cooking charts as images, or download PDF versions, with no need to enter your email.

Getting used to air fryer cooking times can take time. And sometimes it can feel like you need to be a maths whizz to work out the conversion from a regular oven to an air fryer. I know I've spent waaay more time than I should trying to knock 20 per cent off cooking times when following recipes. But then I decided to find an air fryer conversion calculator so that I'd have all the figures on hand whenever I need them. Now I can easily convert my favourite dishes and new recipes to the air fryer.

I've included a free downloadable oven to air fryer conversion chart below which you can save to refer to whenever you want. As I rule, I reduce the cooking time and the temperature. But the golden rule of air frying is to check regularly and adapt as you go along. Different ingredients and air fryer models can give different results but this free air fryer conversion chart is a great starting point for removing much of the guesswork.

Converting cooking times for an air fryer

For cooking time conversions, I reduce the cooking time by around 20 per cent. For example, for a dish cooked for 40 minutes in a regular oven, I would cook for 32 minutes in my air fryer (although I'd check it before the time was up, just in case it cooked more quickly).

For temperature conversions, I reduce the temperature by around 20°C. For example, for a dish cooked at 220°C in a regular oven, I would cook at 200°C in my air fryer.

Top Tips for converting recipes from oven to air fryer

First of all check if the recipe was written primarily for an air fryer or an oven. If it's a recipe from an air fryer website like this one, or from an air fryer recipe book, you won't need to do any conversions as the author will already have made the adjustments for you.

When cooking pre-packaged frozen foods, check the packaging. A lot of manufacturer's are starting to add air frying instructions to products such as frozen fries, fishfingers, sausages and more so you might find the cooking times and temperatures there.

Converting cooking temperatures for an air fryer

Generally, when converting from oven to air fryer, I reduce the temperature by around 20°C. (I'm based in the UK so use celcius but in case you prefer to use fahrenheit, or gas mark temperatures I've included a page that shows the conversions between these too).

When cooking from frozen, be aware that you might need to start at a lower temperature and cook for longer than when cooking from fresh. For example, when I cook frozen salmon in my air fryer, I cook it for slightly longer than when cooking unfrozen salmon.
